Necklift

The necklift is a cosmetic procedure in which liposuction through a few discrete incisions is used to smooth and tighten lax skin along the jowls and chin in patients noticing the gravitational effects of aging.  In addition to using liposuction, depending on the patient’s age and level of sagging skin, Dr. LeRoy can eliminate excess skin or tighten the underlying platysma (neck) muscles to maximize the procedure’s rejuvenating effect. Dr. LeRoy performs necklift surgery to revitalize the appearance of aging effects on the lower third of the face of both men and women.

In addition to improving the appearance of lax skin and muscle of the neck (often referred to as a waddle or jowls), the necklift also further enhances the results of other facial procedures such as:  facelift, browlift, and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) to contribute to a more natural looking, overall facial rejuvenation.

Most necklift procedure (depending on whether muscle tightening was required) patients will be able to resume their normal activities within two weeks of their surgery.  As with any surgical procedure, Dr. LeRoy advises necklift patients to avoid any strenuous activity and to wear the appropriate post-procedure dressings for several days following their procedure to minimize the risk of post-procedure swelling, infection, or scarring.
