Performed in Atlanta, GA by Dr. John L. LeRoy.

Rhinoplasty cosmetic nose surgery atlanta

Dr. LeRoy uses rhinoplasty, a plastic surgery procedure that reshapes the nose, to add greater symmetry to the face. The versatile rhinoplasty procedure thins, lengthens, shortens, augments, or lifts a nose in accordance with the patient’s desires. Rhinoplasty is frequently used to narrow wide nostrils, to remove a hump on the bridge of the nose, or to raise a droopy nasal tip. Those who seek refinement of their natural profiles with increased symmetry and balance are good candidates for nose surgery. Some rhinoplasty patients may also benefit from chin implants for further facial balance.

Rhinoplasty The Surgery

Prior to nose surgery, Dr. John LeRoy will evaluate your medical records. You will be asked about past breaks, breathing difficulties, and current medicines being used. During initial consultations, Dr. LeRoy will discuss the rhinoplasty procedure with you at length. You should be prepared to clearly express your goals in surgery during these meetings.

On the day of surgery, you will be put under general anesthesia and given an intravenous sedative. The technique Dr. LeRoy will use depends upon the shape of your nose and the desired result. Rhinoplasty surgery can often be performed from inside the nose, and in cases where surgery is performed on outer skin, incisions are hidden in the natural creases of the nose.

The aesthetic effects of nose surgery will be apparent within a few weeks as swelling reduces, but the final result will not be fully visible until the structure of the nose has completely healed. During this healing process, patients are discouraged from involvement in strenuous activities which might aggravate swelling.

Frequently Asked Questions about Nose Surgery

Can breathing difficulties be corrected during a rhinoplasty procedure?

In many cases, rhinoplasty can serve both a cosmetic purpose and a medical purpose by relieving breathing difficulties. Dr. LeRoy discusses each patient’s goals at their consultation, but for patients who suffer from a deviated septum or a structural breathing obstruction, nose surgery may be able to help them breathe more easily while also producing the aesthetic results they want.

Will rhinoplasty make me look younger?

The primary focus in nose surgery is to improve facial balance for an overall more attractive appearance. While this procedure does not directly minimize signs of aging, it can often be combined with procedures that do have this goal, such as blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) or a facelift.

Will my facial features be symmetrical after rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty aims to create an overall better balance between the patient’s facial features. While improved symmetry is a benefit of nose surgery, no individual has a perfectly symmetrical face, and in fact, attempting to make all the facial features symmetrical would likely create unnatural-looking results. With over twenty years of experience in cosmetic surgery, Dr. John LeRoy is highly skilled in reshaping the nose to compliment and improve the look of the patient’s face.
