Exparel® Plastic Surgery Pain Management

Dr. John LeRoy’s Band Aid Plastic Surgery procedures use gentle numbing and minimally invasive techniques to reduce downtime and produce natural looking plastic surgery results. To enhance the convenience of traditional plastic surgery procedures like facelift and tummy tuck, Dr. John LeRoy has added Exparel® pain management to his plastic surgery recovery regimen.

Injected into the surgical incision at the end of a procedure, Exparel® provides patients with up to 72 hours of post surgical pain relief. Designed to treat all layers of tissue and reduce the need for additional medications, Dr. LeRoy uses Exparel® to help his patients achieve optimal surgical results with fewer lifestyle interruptions.

Plastic Surgery Glossary:

Acne: A skin condition characterized by irritated, clogged pores that causes whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples. Acne can occur on the face and on other parts of the body like the chest and back.

Collagen: Proteins found within the skin that promotes the suppleness and elasticity of tissue. Collagen production slows as we age causing the skin to become more lax over time.

Complexion: The natural tone, texture, and overall appearance of the skin.

DOT Therapy: Laser skin resurfacing technology that treats wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne, acne scarring, and more with tiny beams of laser light applied in a dot pattern so as not to disrupt surrounding tissue.

Exparel®: injected analgesic used at the end of surgery to provide up to 72 hours of post-procedure pain relief while reducing the needs for supplementary pain medication during recovery.

Hyperpigmentation (sun spots): Splotchy, dark patches of skin caused by increased melanin production. Hyperpigmentation is often the result of unprotected sun exposure.
